First I must admit I LOVE the concept of steam cleaning my house. Cleaning with out toxic chemical detergent just with the power of steam it is works perfect for me especially that I have 3 small children, and I often babysit my neighbour baby girl who is still crawling. Not to mention the money saved on not have to buy detergent anymore.

Naturally I am looking for the best steam cleaning mop on the market. Did my intensive research as I always do and was already sold on the h2o mop x5, mostly because it’s hand held steamer feature, which I think will be extremely handy in my household lots of toys, sports equipment, bathroom tiles and lots more, all can use good steam cleaning not just the floor.

I was waiting a bit with my order of the h2o mop x5 as I was searching for the best deal hoping I can find some good deal, as I’m planing to buy one to my mom as well as an holiday present. And just as I was about to buy it online doing one last search I found out Shark came out with new steam mop, call: Shark Lift-Away Professional Steam Pocket Mop – S3901, long name! I copy it form their site, really who is coming up with these names? Anyway, this new steam mop also git the hand held steamer which shark call: Lift away, removable Handheld Steamer. Ok, strange name but looks really good, great features and slick design. So now i’m divided and not sure which one should I buy.

The h2o mop x5 is light and easy to use, my friend has one and I have tried it. I also read some good reviews online and some bad ones of course.

The Shark Lift-Away Professional Steamer is relativity new, none of my friends or family has it yet, and I couldn’t find many reviews online. The reviews I did find where divided to half some said is the best steamer they ever had some said it was the worst, leaving the floor wet and just not doing the job. I have few products from shark euro pro, which I love and use often; dry vacuum, electric mop.

My dilemma is if I should buy the h2o mop x5 or the Shark Lift-Away Professional Steamer. I have to make my mind fast if I want to have it as Christmas present for my mom….

I have to be honest that we had some ideas about the project, but couldn’t figure out what is the most appropriate way to approach it and what is not too little or too much to do. We discussed several times what to do for a project, and somehow a bridge came out several times as a viable solution. My son had an amazing idea of the whole egg factory. Well, that was a bit ambitious, but a good idea. We also had a pre-made bridge with a gear for lifting it up, so that was a backup plan, in case we don’t figure out what to go with.

So, the pictures that you see on the right are based on a project that was done at school. I guess the whole bunch of discussions and analysis help put this project together, so I’m really happy with the outcome. We created a type of the elevator, which is using a pulley and a gear to move and go up and down, and it was a good sample, but the main reason for this post is to give you an idea. I really couldn’t find some good pictures around.

When you need to un-wrinkle your clothes, you usually need to do it instantly. You pull your clothes out, in a rush, and have no time for long operation. Of course… Very rarely you have plenty of time to wrinkle-free piles of your winter clothes, jacket, or summer set of shirt. It usually goes day by day, but with steamer you can dedicate some time, and quickly do one by one.

Important thing about some sensitive materials, is that you just can’t iron them. Some materials just do not withstand ironing, but are fine with steam. Second problem, manipulating a fancy shirt, or a light jacket on ironing board could be science.

I am ok with infomercials, especially when they make sense and present products, which make our lives easier.

I am not the person who likes paying couple dollars per shirt at dry cleaning. I’ll rather do the whole thing myself and save the money.

Between the two, using steam makes more sense to me than messing up with ironing board.

If you run into a problem of calcification and a stone buildup within the machine, just add a bit of white vinegar and that will clean it, but remember, it has to be white (clear) vinegar, because you wouldn’t be very happy with red sprinkles on your white shirt.

• 2 frozen flounder fillets
• softened butter
• 1 medium Russet potato, sliced paper thin
• salt and pepper to taste

Place the fish on the 3-inch rack, spread with softened butter and season with salt and pepper. Lay the potato slices over the fish starting at the thick end and overlapping so they look like fish scales. Spray with oil and cook at 400ºF for 12-15 minutes or until the potato slices are crispy.
